“Elaine with Alan are the two founders and owners of Alan Edwards salon together they are in the fore front of building the brand from a small salon in 1987 with three stylists to a nationally recognised company with two salons and educational studios, with an ever growing team of 35, which is synonymous with quality and style.
Since the birth of Alan Edwards salon my achievements have been numerous as an individual and also as part of a team. One of the most memorable being winning the L'Oreal colour trophy, for the first time and being involved in creating the grand final show which was amazing. To work on a project over a period of months and then seeing it live. I've visited many cities producing shows + seminars in Paris, Chicago, Helsinki, Dublin, Belfast and London. Aspects of my profession I enjoy is teaching our assistants and to see them grow is very rewarding. I have recently gained my al assessors qualification, which in turn helps our trainees work through their SVQs.
And finally my clients who I enjoy working with to give them the great hair they deserve, all this together I am privileged to have probably the best job in the world.

“I joined the Alan Edwards team in 1993 as a Saturday girl, coming in full time from school. I have worked my way up through the years now being manager of our South Side salon from 2002.
I completed L'oreal Colour Specialist Degree in 2005 with distinction. Most recently I became a Kerestase Specialist. I really enjoy working in our busy salon with a friendly team, long may it continue.”

“I'm Erin one of our senior stylists in the southside salon, I love
working with the girls we have a great wee team. I started at the company as a Saturday/Sunday girl and have now worked here for 15years
(scary) I still only feel 18yrs old!
I did the training with our assistants for many years and now take
part in our amazing in-house cut and colour nights that keep us up to
date with the latest hair and fashion trends. Its great seeing new
colour techniques to help enhance the haircuts.
I love seeing our clients going away with something a bit different we
have created and of course with a big smile.”

“Hi, I'm Cheryl, one of our stylists at the Southside salon where I have worked since 2002.
Our motto at Alan Edwards is "Creating a difference" and this is something I always try to do with my clients.
I am a creative person and I really enjoy our in house seasonal interpretations where we look at fashion week and predict what's coming up in the future of the fashion world. This keeps me ahead of the trends and my clients are always in the know.
I love being part of our small team at the Southside where not only the people are my colleagues but also my friends who I still learn so much from everyday.

Since a very young age I have always had a fascination with hair, I
used to love going to the salon with my mum, I would sit mesmerised
watching everything that was going on, then at 15 I left school and
started in a salon, I come from a small island so once I had perfected
the perm and blue rinse I was desperate to learn other things, so I set
sail at 16 and found myself in Glasgow after working in two different
salons I came to Alan Edwards - a place I call my home from home. I have
been a fully qualified stylist in the salon since early 2006.
The salon offers the best of the best training for younger trainees
and us as a team are always learning new and exiting things!
We hold
cut and colour nights so all the stylist can share their ideas for new
styles and colours. Stylists are always out and about at various
different hairdressing events and courses and are always keen to get
back to the salon and share what they have learned.
Alan Edwards salon
has a great atmosphere we are all like one big family, clients are
always picking up on this when they come to the salon, its a great
place for them to receive the best service from start to finish, they
can be sure we will help resolve, enhance and create the perfect style
for their needs.
I am always keen to learn and I love every aspect of hair, I get so
much of my inspiration from my other team members everyone has their
own unique style which is one of the things I love about where I work.
I am a perfectionist and I do everything I can to make sure my clients
journey through the salon is the best it can be from start to finish, I
am not happy till I know my client is happy.

Edwards.
Over the thirteen years I have worked in Alan Edwards I have worked in every
salon and now work at our Southside branch. I get inspired by
other members of staff and we pick colours together for our clients. We
all work well together to create a great and individual look for each
client.
We use L'Oreal colours as they have a wide and varied collection
making it easy to find the correct colour and tones for all our clients
needs.”
