I have been working with Alan Edwards since 2010. After trying a few career options I started my hairdressing career later than most. Thankfully Alan took a leap of faith in me and I am now a valuable asset to the Alan Edwards team. Since I have started in the salon I have been involved in various fashion shows, weddings, seminars and been fortunate to attend many of the L'Oréal seminars with guest artists which also continuously helps develop my skills as a hairdresser consistently keeping up with trends and fashion. In 2013 I was given a fantastic opportunity to attend a 15 week L'Oréal Colour specialist course. After which I qualified with merit as a L'Oréal Colour specialist. As amazing as all these opportunities have been I get my most enjoyment from my everyday clientèle when they leave happy and feeling fantastic.
Alan with Elaine are the two founders and directors of The Alan Edwards salon group. Together they built the brand from one small salon in 1987, with a team of only three stylists, to a nationally recognised company with two salons and their own educational studios, as well as an ever-growing team of 35 who are synonymous with quality and style. I love sharing my passion for hair with my clients and team alike. Now with over 30 years’ experience in hairdressing, my driving force is to continually keep Alan Edwards salons as the number one choice for all of our existing and new clients.
Since the birth of Alan Edwards Salon my achievements have been numerous as an individual and also as part of a team. One of the most memorable being winning the L'Oreal colour trophy for the first time and being involved in creating the grand final show which was amazing to work on a project for over a period of months and then seeing it come to life in a live show. One of the aspects of my profession that I really enjoy is teaching our assistants and seeing them grow. I also enjoy being a qualified in-house assessor, helping our trainees work through their SVQ qualifications - it's very rewarding. Finally, looking after my clients is something I've always enjoyed. Building friendships and giving them the great hair they deserve is very fulfilling. I'm privileged to have probably one of the best jobs in the world.
I joined the Alan Edwards team in 2011, working my way from assistant to stylist. I have enjoyed all aspects of learning and working with the team, and now becoming a L'Oréal colour specialist.
