Elaine “Elaine with Alan are the two founders and owners of Alan Edwards salon together they are in the fore front of building the brand from a small salon in 1987 with three stylists to a nationally recognised company with two salons and educational studios, with an ever growing team of 35, which is synonymous with quality and style. Sharing their passion with clients and team alike.
Since the birth of Alan Edwards salon my achievements have been numerous as an individual and also as part of a team. One of the most memorable being winning the L'Oreal colour trophy, for the first time and being involved in creating the grand final show which was amazing. To work on a project over a period of months and then seeing it live. I've visited many cities producing shows + seminars in Paris, Chicago, Helsinki, Dublin, Belfast and London. Aspects of my profession I enjoy is teaching our assistants and to see them grow is very rewarding. I have recently gained my al assessors qualification, which in turn helps our trainees work through their SVQs.
And finally my clients who I enjoy working with to give them the great hair they deserve, all this together I am privileged to have probably the best job in the world.

Louise “I joined the Alan Edwards team in 1992 as an assistant it took 3 years to complete my training. I have since worked my way up in the company.
I have been the manager in Wilson Street since 2002 which gives variation to my job, I run a busy column 4 days a week and love being part of the education team which teach all of our assistants, to back this up I completed an A1 Assessors Course in 2007. As you can see from the length of time I have worked here, I love my job and also working for Alan and Elaine.

Martine “I joined Alan Edwards Salons in 1994 at the tender age of 18, I realised my hairdressing skill wasn't up to scratch, and with Alan
Edwards having a fantastic reputation within the industry, I knew I
could expand my knowledge and ability. Joining the company allowed me creative freedom, I joined the Art Team as an assistant being involved in some shape or form
whether it be passing up pins to fetching lunch for the team knowing
the learning experience was priceless. I quickly graduated to working on seminars, photo shoots and session work and building my clientele at
the same time.
I have been very fortunate to been able to travel the
world teaching and sharing my skills with other eager hairdressers and
also teach at our in house education studios hopefully inspiring our
own team. The most exciting part of my career so far has to be helping
create our show at the Grand Final of the L'Oreal colour trophy in 2008.
I intend to continue flying the creative flag for Scottish
hairdressing!

Scott “
Hi I'm Scott and joined the Alan Edwards team in 2001 during that time
I trained not only as a hairdresser but also as a L'Oreal Colour
Specialist. I have traveled extensively with the Art Team, I have won
the Scottish region of the L'Oreal Colour Trophy twice and in 2005 won
the Grand Final .
I am also very proud to be involved in the "My New Hair" service, which
concept was developed by Trevor Sorbie, this service is to provide
contemporary wigs for women going through alopecia or battling cancer,
I cut and colour these wigs to suit the individual which I personally
find very rewarding.

Lisa “
I'm a senior stylist at the Alan Edwards salon and have been working for the company for over 15 years. I started my career as a trainee in the salon in 1993 an have been trained and worked in all aspects of my chosen job, I have been recently taking on a more managerial role within the salon and have enjoyed the challenge.
I still find myself surrounded by so many talented people which has in turn motivated an inspired me an makes me want to create a special an unique experience for my clients, so much so they can't resist coming back.
”
Fiona Fraser “
I have worked for Alan Edwards for 8 years, I started in our west end salon and moved to merchant city salon two years ago. I am a stylist in the salon, and received all of my training here. I am part of the art team and I am lucky enough to get to go to London fashion week twice a year and get to do the shows, always learning new things.
Being in the art team involves doing photoshoots, fashion shows and magazine work, also some travel which is never a bad thing.
I was also lucky to be part of the team that won the 2005 L'Oreal Colour Trophy which was amazing and in 2008 The art team was asked to do the Grand Finale show of the L'oreal Colour Trophy, which was one of the highlights of my hairdressing career.
We have Alan Edwards Educational Studios where we teach seminars and also have guest artists.
Amn't I a clever girl!!!
”
Elliot “
I have been with Alan Edwards Salon since May 2006. In that time I
have qualified as a stylist and as a L'Oreal Colour Specialist.
Because I specialise in both styling and colour I can offer my
client
a complete service from start to finish. I am also an active member
of
the Artistic Team here at Alan Edwards which means as well as
teaching
at many of our Educational Seminars I get opportunities to travel
with
the team and partake in shows, photo shoots and competitions not
just
in the UK but all over the world.
I take my inspiration from fashion, how it develops and
constantly
evolves from season to season. Part of our job is to look at up and
coming trends and styles and incorporate that into the salon through
styling and colour, and to develop new looks every season to offer
our
clients, keeping us and them ahead of the game.

Carmen “
Hi I'm Carmen Little, stylist within The Alan Edwards company. I started
way, way back in 1990 and I continue to enjoy every minute thanks to my
clients whom I have a great rapport with and my fellow colleges.
I wouldn't have thought that when I first started hairdressing that I
would have experienced and achieved so much, along with so much
personal satisfaction.
I completed my training within the company then became a member of the
art team, I have been involved in photographic sessions and shows and
have been a finalist in the L'Oreal colour trophy.
I really enjoy dressing long hair which I love.
The most exciting of all is The Alternative Hair Show in London's
Royal Albert Hall, this involves each team member to stretch their
imagination and bouncing ideas off each other without limits (it gets
the artistic brain ticking), combining theme, hair, music,
choreography, lighting and WHAT A BUZZ WHEN IT ALL COMES TOGETHER !
The most memorable photo shoot I was involved in was in Paris for L'Oreal which got great coverage in the media.
My pass times involve looking after my two beautiful children and
bagging Monroes.

Lauren Hanson “
Since a very young age I have always had a fascination with hair, I
used to love going to the salon with my mum, I would sit mesmerised
watching everything that was going on, then at 15 I left school and
started in a salon, I come from a small island so once I had perfected
the perm and blue rinse I was desperate to learn other things, so I set
sail at 16 and found myself in Glasgow after working in two different
salons I came to Alan Edwards - a place I call my home from home. I have
been a fully qualified stylist in the salon since early 2006.
The salon offers the best of the best training for younger trainees
and us as a team are always learning new and exiting things!
We hold
cut and colour nights so all the stylist can share their ideas for new
styles and colours. Stylists are always out and about at various
different hairdressing events and courses and are always keen to get
back to the salon and share what they have learned.
Alan Edwards salon
has a great atmosphere we are all like one big family, clients are
always picking up on this when they come to the salon, its a great
place for them to receive the best service from start to finish, they
can be sure we will help resolve, enhance and create the perfect style
for their needs.
I am always keen to learn and I love every aspect of hair, I get so
much of my inspiration from my other team members everyone has their
own unique style which is one of the things I love about where I work.
I am a perfectionist and I do everything I can to make sure my clients
journey through the salon is the best it can be from start to finish, I
am not happy till I know my client is happy.
”
Michelle “
I have been working with the salon for over 10 years. Most of this time has been dedicated to colour.
Colour looks different on each individual and I love how it gives an instant transformation. The vibe I get from my clients when they leave the salon makes me happy.
In the past few years I've worked on photo shoots and entered competitions which was great fun. My confidence has grown and I feel stronger in my ability to educate my colleagues and clients in all aspects of colour creating a great relationship.

Andrew “
Hi, I am Andrew and I enjoy working in Alan Edwards salon because of the
people I work with, its always a bonus to have a great team behind you!
My focus is on colour, I love how it changes with every season. I have a passion for learning new techniques and updating my knowledge of colour so that I am constantly improving my service. It greatly satisfies me
when a client leaves with a smile on their face.
”
Rosie “
I have worked in the hairdressing industry since 2005. I started off in
a salon in my home town Largs working on a Thursday after school and at
weekends. I then followed my career to Alan Edwards salon full time in
November 2006.
The training in Alan Edwards is of such high standard and the thing I
love about it is that it is all in house training.
I am very close to finishing my training and I would love to go on to
do photoshoots and session work etc. There are so many opportunities
that come your way and you should grab them as they come.
It is such a great feeling when your client is happy with the service
you have carried out and its a great feeling making someone feel so
good about themselves.
Working for Alan Edwards is great as all the staff are more like
family and friends rather than employees. Everyone gets on so well
which I think makes work great fun.

John “
I joined the team initially at the Briggait salon as a choreographer
for Alan Edwards shows and seminars, since then I have traveled
extensively with the art team directing shows, fashion styling and
choreographing many events and seminars. Over the years I have headed
reception where without doubt I can put my skills of multi tasking to
good use!
”
Janie “
